Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Maintenance Mechanic to join its team.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Work Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial environment
• Experience in the aluminum Cast House industry (an asset)
• Valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as a Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright

Duties/Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Cast House equipment effectively to minimize downtime
• Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all production and building system equipment
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdown calls and complete assigned work orders
• Identify root causes of hydraulic and pneumatic issues, providing innovative solutions and recommendations for continual improvement
• Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to the Company’s Health and Safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple daily assignments with minimal supervision
• Basic math skills
• Basic welding and torching abilities
• Commitment to upholding Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards in all tasks and operations
• Knowledge of extrusion equipment is a definite asset
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and welding drawings
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Strong troubleshooting skills
