Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welder who will apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, auto welding, or semi-automatic welding equipment.

Education Level

• Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year of FCAW (flux-core weld) experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Inspect your welds to make sure all Quality requirements are met
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
• Proficiently perform flat (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical (3F), and overhead (4F) fillet welds
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to understand weld quality acceptance criteria
• Ability to understand weld size requirements
• Must demonstrate ability to satisfactorily pass vertical fillet and overhead fillet weld tests using FCAW-G

Work Environment

• May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking, or standing for long periods
• May require working above ground (15 ft or more)
• May require working in narrow or confined workspaces for extended periods
• Metatarsal steel-toe boots are required at the time of hire
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights
• Must be able to perform welding work while wearing all required personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, a filtering face piece or tight-fitting respirator
