Job Profile

The company is seeking a Fusion Technician II who will operate equipment used to fuse piping.

Requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle, and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average workweek.

Run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

  • Generally, 5-7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility
  • Experience in electro-fuse and structure welding

License/Certification

  • Technical Certification or Associate Degree (may be required in some areas)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Communicates with customers to assess needs.
  • Determines the appropriate method and equipment necessary to install the pipe. Provides and installs custom HDPE piping systems and repair systems.
  • Determines if the final product meets quality control standards.
  • Electro fuses and structure welds. Inspects and maintains fusion EQ.
  • Identifies installation and repair needs.
  • Transports equipment to the job site. Operates field equipment and forklift.
  • Responsible for 24-hour on-call repair emergencies.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Capable of optimizing tritium breeding and fuel cycles
  • Expertise in plasma containment and stability
  • Mastery of advanced energy conversion systems
  • Proficient in fusion reactor diagnostics and control
  • Skilled in radiation shielding and safety protocols

Work Environment

  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
  • Typically, in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes, which may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
