Job Profile

The company (Siemens Mobility) is hiring a Production Welder who will support a broad range of welding, alignment, and assembly activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world.

Education Level

  • High School Education or a state-recognized GED

Work Experience

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual inspections and adhere to established quality checks to ensure the highest standards are met.
  • Construct and assemble routine welded units, such as subassemblies and mounted parts, with precision.
  • Utilize production blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to execute electronic or manual welding tasks, including standard and repetitive assembly operations.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English.
  • Fully understand manufacturing drawings, able to verify dimensions.
  • General mechanical background.
  • A practical welding test will be required for all candidates to assess skills.
  • Working knowledge of torch and plasma equipment is preferred.

Work Environment

  • Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders
  • Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
  • Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
