Job Profile
The company is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will support Siemens’ growth playbook for operations by implementing Standard Work and Process improvement. This includes documentation and performance measurement of manufacturing processes, new product introduction, improvements to production lines, capital expenditures, cost-savings measures, and fixture design.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering (required)
Work Experience
- 8+ years of Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience within an Assembly and fabrication environment
- Experience in the successful completion of relevant projects to improve safety, quality, delivery reliability, and cost in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma manufacturing techniques (required)
- Experience with SAP or a similar MRP system (required)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyzes manufacturing sequences during pilot series and tests and analyzes the manufacturability of pre-series samples. Recommend product changes and implement production amendments.
- Analyzes product specifications and clarifies product requirements and manufacturing aspects with accountable R&D, Engineering, or Product Management.
- CapEx analysis and submission.
- Conducts improvement projects on site or unit level, and liaises with other engineering functions, external vendors, or service providers.
- Develops and calculates product modifications needed to increase the efficiency of production and contributes to re-engineering.
- Ensures appropriate process and product documentation.
- Plans equipment layout, tools, and IT programs needed, and designs or contributes to designing the manufacturing workflow. Cooperates in these aspects with other respective Engineers.
- Provides detailed information on product specifications and on pieces and parts needed for product completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Laser Welding (a plus)
- Experience with Sheet-metal, Welding, Punching, Enclosers (preferred)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to measure, design/specify, and install production fixtures and equipment required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (required)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Work Environment
- Ability to travel 5%
- Collaborates with design, quality, and production teams
- Exposed to machinery, noise, and sometimes hazardous materials
- May work extra hours during process changes or project launches
- Splits time between office work and on-site process evaluation
- Works in factories, production plants, or industrial facilities
