Job Profile

The company is searching for a Production Operations Supervisor who will oversee multiple activities simultaneously and take ownership of the output from the employees working on their team.

Responsible for exhibiting a strong working knowledge of all machine machinery, equipment, and processes.

Manage the departments and work to achieve plant goals while maintaining a high safety, quality, and productivity standard.

Education Level

• Associate Degree or equivalent education

Work Experience

• 5 years of minimum prior relevant work experience
• Experience in a metal fabrication or welding facility, specifically with flux and or metal core welding (highly preferred)
• Demonstrate dependability, maturity, and strong leadership characteristics through previous professional work experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assign employees to workstations and ensure proper training is completed.
• Assist in continuous improvement activities to improve the movement of materials through various production processes.
• Coach employees on work quality and quantity, such as fit-up and welding processes, ensuring goals are met and solving issues as they arise and are identified.
• Ensure employees follow all safety procedures and protocols, serve on safety committees, and complete regular safety audits.
• Ensure the production of sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production cost.
• Manage daily production operations of heavy industrial products for assigned work groups.
• Manage hourly employees, monitor, and approve timesheets and work logs.
• Set production schedules based on production introduction, equipment efficiency, and quality metrics.
• Manage all aspects of fit-up and welding processes for assigned work groups and production bays, ensuring that production policies and procedures are strictly adhered to by all employees.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Regular and predictable attendance, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.
• Thorough knowledge of blueprints and layouts, preferably related to transmission poles.

Work Environment

• Exposure to noise, machinery, and moving parts
• Fast-paced, deadline-focused environment
• May work nights, weekends, or rotating shifts
• Oversees shift operations and staff
• Works mainly on the production floor
