Job Profile

The company is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Plumber who will handle any activity needed for maintaining the plant facilities and equipment.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma (credible)

Work Experience

  • Apprenticeship papers, Journeymen’s card, or 5 years or more of equivalent work experience in a skilled trade discipline (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of plumbing systems and being capable of identifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance in a commercial/industrial work environment.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing emergencies.
  • Perform routine inspections of the plumbing and drainage system.

Other Roles-

  • Installs, repairs, maintains, and fabricates, as required, plant facilities and equipment, and performs other general maintenance and service functions. Duties include, but are not limited to, power plant, mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance, welding, pipefitting, air conditioning, carpentry work, and painting. Performs periodic inspections and tests and reports findings. Receives general instructions from supervisors and notices of service required from supervisors and other plant personnel. Works from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions and specifications. Uses all hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for completion of assignments.
  • May direct other employees assigned to the job.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Working knowledge of machine tools and welding is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are necessary.
  • The candidate must supply all customary hand tools of the trade.
  • Will be required to acquire a government security clearance.
  • Must regularly demonstrate the ability to lift a nominal weight, climb ladders, utilize elevated working platforms, and bend while servicing equipment.
  • Must have a primary and secondary skill, one of which must be a plumber, carpenter, pipe fitter, air conditioning mechanic, maintenance welder, or machine repairer.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment and rigging equipment.
