Job Profile

The company is searching for a Tool Design Engineer who will be responsible for designing innovative tooling solutions to support production and experimental purposes, and we’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Tool Design Engineer to join our team.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.

Work Experience

  • At least 2-4 plus years of experience as a Tooling Engineer or a related role, including experience in using 3D modeling software and designing industrial machinery and tools.
  • 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience in managing projects, schedules, and resources.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for utilizing 3D modeling software to conceptualize, create, and integrate industrial machinery, equipment, and tools.
  • Design dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype models, and robotics end-of-arm tooling, taking into account factors such as accessibility, ergonomics, safety, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
  • Accounting for various factors such as accessibility, ergonomics, safety, economy, mobility, and performance requirements while developing solutions
  • Designing dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, prototype models, and robotics end-of-arm tooling for production or experimental purposes.
  • Utilizing 3D modeling software to conceptualize, create, and integrate industrial machinery, equipment, and tools

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to analyze and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, fabrication, and assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of robotics and automation systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks or CREO.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and materials.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.

Work Environment

  • Collaboration with engineers and machinists
  • Occasional visits to production sites
  • Office and manufacturing floor settings
  • Regular computer-aided design (CAD) work
  • Standard weekday hours
