Job Profile

The company is hiring a Production Supervisor who will manage the production employees’ functions in assigned work areas to support all components of manufacturing required to meet the needs and requirements of internal and external customers.

Education Level

  • Requires an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing-related field with experience managing groups or teams, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Experience

  • Welding experience
  • Flux core welding experience
  • Experience working with aluminum

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
  • Assures employees follow all rules and regulations for the JCI Hattiesburg Plant, and follow disciplinary processes as required.
  • Assures that assigned production employees are trained to and do follow written construction standards.
  • Assures that assigned production employees are trained to and do follow all Quality standards.
  • Completes final quality Inspections of manufactured units before the call for the Quality Department Final Inspection.
  • Controls manufacturing coded warranty on assigned units – not to exceed plant goals.
  • Coordinates daily or weekly production plans with Department Leaders in assigned work areas.
  • Identifies employee resource requirements according to workload in assigned areas.
  • Identifies materials variances and works with appropriate personnel to reduce such variances.
  • Maintains daily labor and attendance records.
  • Maintains on-time shipping goals based on on-time unit start dates.
  • Maintains productivity levels according to plant goals.
  • Maintains proper housekeeping in assigned work areas
  • Provides and or requests skills training for all newly hired employees and refresher training for all employees on an as-required basis, as well as updating employee training records.
  • Provides on-schedule updates to the production schedule.
  • Responsible for job assignments and time management for indirect projects within assigned areas
  • Works with management in a joint effort to provide the worker with a safe attitude, safe surroundings, and safe equipment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Directly supervises 12-15 employees in a Manufacturing department.
  • Production planning skills as well as strong production planning skill sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (primarily Excel), as well as Internet software and Email, is required.
  • Kronos or other timekeeping knowledge
  • CPR/First Aid trained

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit and use hands to touch, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
