Job Profile
The company is looking for a Light Duty Mechanic who will handle maintenance and repair of typical light-duty pick-ups, crew cabs, and larger trucks.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
Work Experience
- 3 years of experience as a journeyman-level light-duty mechanic in the construction, dealership, military, or oilfield industries required, or a combination of experience plus education at a recognized trade school in automotive technology to equal three years.
- Ford Warranty experience
- Fabrication and installation experience with aftermarket products.
- Previous dealership experience
- Fabrication and Vehicle aftermarket accessory upfit experience
License/Certification
- Valid driver’s license required and ability to be insured by Worley auto insurer.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC).
- Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Must be able to prepare paperwork and describe failure, and repair as associated with warranty requirements.
- Operates and inspects vehicles or equipment to diagnose defects and make repairs.
- Performs routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs, including engine and transmission, on mainly Ford Super Duty/F-Series trucks, some vans, and Excursion vehicles with minimum guidance from a supervisor.
- Performs work in the shop or field as needed.
- Ram Trucks and Ford Super Duty vehicle repair.
- Routinely operate Worley/client light or medium-duty vehicles.
- Safely climb ladders of various heights.
- Will be required to work on fuel, electrical, hydraulic, drive train, and other systems using tools and test equipment common to the trade.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system.
- Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternates.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Basic welding knowledge and ability.
- Thorough understanding of internal combustion engines.
Work Environment
- Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
- Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
- Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
- Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
- Lift 50 lbs. from the floor to the shoulder with two hands.
- Lift 50 lbs. from the floor to the waist with two hands.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk on level, uneven, and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
- Push/pull a 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
- Push/pull a 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time.
