Job Profile

The company is hiring an Account Manager who will be responsible for managing the sales process and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory to existing and new Airgas customers.

Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases and equipment, welding products, tools, and hardware and safety products.

Manage communication with District, Branch, Sales, and Plant Managers regularly and when necessary to facilitate 100% customer service and satisfaction.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Business, or related field (required) – College/University
  • In lieu of a Degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of prior outside business-to-business sales experience to include proven experience and success in solution-selling concepts and a demonstrated history of managing customers throughout a defined sales territory.
  • Experience in collaborative, CSM platforms, such as Google Space and Salesforce.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute plans to improve Airga’s market share within the assigned sales territory.
  • Establish and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer failures, new customer developments, and other customer-specific information.
  • Keep local, regional, and national Airgas management informed of territory performance, personal performance, and market trends.
  • Maintains focus on safety in the workplace by complying with company safety procedures and practices.
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers
  • Qualify and pursue sales leads from other parts of the Airgas organization.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, and industrial gas/welding supply sales a plus.
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation and ability to prioritize the targeting of customers delivering the highest value to Airgas.
  • Must have excellent organizational, written, and oral communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Proven success in using their deep knowledge of customer’s business, current macro- and microeconomic trends, industry trends, and potential new business opportunities.
  • Proven success using a consultative sales approach providing multiple layers of value to a customer to establish a mix of sales solutions and products
  • Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration.
