Education Level

  • Assembly experience (preferred)
  • Soldering experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assembling at one of several stations, in sizes approximately 9’ x 4’ x 4’ or one of several stations, ranging in size from 6’ x 10’ x 10’ to 15’ x 15’ x 15’.
  • Identifying, transporting, installing, mounting, and bolting components (ranging from 5 lbs. to over 25 lbs. without equipment assistance). Some judgment is required to assemble and make simple adjustments.
  • Packing of finished product into cardboard boxes for shipment.
  • Perform basic and precision subassemblies at various steps throughout the assembly process.
  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections using various simple gauges and measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and resistance meters.
  • Performing mechanical inspection (inspection or installation?) using wrenches, screwdriver, and tape measure.
  • Using simple material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, simple gauges and instruments, and overhead cranes, if required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures, and read assembly blueprints
  • Ability to follow standard work, including specific written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic and precise subassemblies
  • Ability to use air-impact tools and other hand-held tools.
  • Ability to use basic shop math and measuring tools such as tape measures.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.

Work Environment

  • Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Carrying: Occasional carrying of parts ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 35 lbs.
  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 35 lbs.. along with a variety of hand tools.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 1 to 50 lbs. (varies depending on the position)
  • Pulling: Occasional pulling of assemblies and piece part containers ranging in weight from 10 lbs. to 35 lbs.
  • Pushing: Occasional pushing of assemblies and piece part containers ranging in weight from 10 lbs. to 35 lbs.
  • Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts from the work area to the skid.
  • Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking and sitting.
  • Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (Less than 1/8 mile).
