Job Profile

The company is seeking an Assembler (Paint/Prep) who will prepare, assemble, and install vehicle components to the required specifications.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Install unit vehicle components and accessories.
  • Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
  • Maintain daily time records and document all standard work.
  • Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
  • Perform rework as required.
  • Read and interpret schematics (blueprints).
  • Read and interpret work orders.
  • Remove all loose materials and disassemble non-painted components.
  • Rotate responsibilities as needed.
  • Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives. May participate in RCI events.
  • Tape/mask all cylinders on the aerial unit to avoid painting.
  • Use and conduct proper care of PPE.
  • Use basic hand tools such as tape measurer and specialty equipment.
  • Weld components as needed. (non-structural)
  • Willing to be Sentry trained.
  • Willing to move to other work areas in order to support production needs. (Cross-train)
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.
  • Basic computer usage knowledge is desired.
  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics required.
  • General knowledge of at least one of the following required mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, and manufacturing/production processes.

  • Shift work may be required
