Job Profile

The company is seeking an Assembly Person who will be a highly motivated bench mechanic with an aerospace background.

Educational Level

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of bench assembly experience
  • Experience reading blueprints
  • Prefer aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Read and understand written instructions Experience using precision gauging equipment such as micrometers, tape measures, calipers, and indicators

Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Duties-

  • Contour assemblies to Fixtures and Layouts to meet customer print dimensions.
  • Follow Customer Specifications to ensure quality parts are manufactured.
  • Build and Prepare tube assemblies for the weld and braze process.

Responsibilities-

  • Assemble tube details for brazing and welding, ensuring proper fitment and alignment using layout fixture.
  • Be able to work efficiently and be dependable.
  • Contour assemblies to layout fixtures to meet blueprint dimensions.
  • Follow all quality measures and notify the supervisor about any potential issues.
  • Follow and understand Blueprint/work instructions/DOA
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Must be able to work within a team environment and work well with others.
  • Prep tubes for assembly functions example, contour, rough trim, finish trim, clean tube ends, and fittings.
  • Set up a tube Swager to ensure the dimensions are correct.
  • Set up tube bench trimmer and maintain as needed.
  • Using a metal cutting chop saw for rough cuts.
  • Willingness to work with other departments as needed.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to follow work instructions and customer specs.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours and use bench vise.
  • Basic Math skills Must include Addition, Subtraction, Division, Multiplication, Geometry and Algebra
  • Blueprint reading Focuses on quality control and dimensions.
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination with the ability to manipulate, grasp, and assemble parts large and small.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools, Caliper’s, Protractors, Tape measures, scales, and Micrometer’s
  • Mechanically inclined and experienced in metal fabrication
  • Must be able to stay focused and stay on task.
  • Use and knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Work in a safe manner
