Job Profile

The company is searching for an Assembly Supervisor who will supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.

The position may include Weld/Fabricator Supervisor, Assembly, Test, or other manufacturing processes.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational/Trade School Certificated

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in related manufacturing.
  • They should have 7 years of continuous Electrical/Mechanical assembly experience in lieu of an educational diploma.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of equipment and materials in the fabrication area.
  • Must ensure that company policies and procedures are being enforced and adhered to at all times.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Provide continual evaluation of the group’s processes and methods, to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of employee job execution, including training, performance evaluation, and employee relations.
  • Recommend tooling supplies and replacement parts as required.
  • Work with Engineering, Production Control, and QA on drawing problems, manufacturing order problems, and quality problems.

Group-Specific Responsibilities-

  • Comply with all NOV HSE procedures and policies.
  • Ensures the efficient utilization of production resources, capital equipment, setting work schedules, & hiring employees to meet FM 529’s production goals.
  • In conjunction with the safety manager, follows, implements, and maintains safety programs to prevent and eliminate safety incidents.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformity, and identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions for assembly constraints through proper channels.
  • Reports on key departmental performance indicators such as utilization and efficiency.
  • Supervise personnel in Electronics Lab and Control’s assembly.
  • Work with department leaders and direct reports to keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Works with Quality Department, instilling a quality-oriented attitude throughout the department which results in improved quality and reduces rework.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as instructed by the production manager.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Technical Competencies-

  • Ability to learn new software applications
  • Posses’ skills in Excel, Word, Oracle, Kronos, Powerpoint
  • Writes, sends, and receives e-mails to internal employees and external clients

Other Job Requirements

  • Able to work in an Assembly floor environment for 50% of the day, and 50% of the day in an office setting.
  • Adheres to established production schedule and communicates with planning and engineering departments to meet delivery commitments.
  • Coordinates with planning, purchasing, receiving, warehouse, and quality departments to expedite components required for Electronics Lab and Control’s assembly to meet delivery commitments.
  • Ensures direct reports follow established work procedures performs assembly work according to blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, customer specifications, and checklists.
  • Follow Mini MRB and Trace procedures to ensure product conformance to establish quality guidelines.
