Job Profile

The company is seeking an Assembly Team Leader who will provide support to the weld assembly department by performing utility tasks.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • Possess 1 to 2 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists operators in solving work problems.
  • Assigns operators to the manufacturing positions and assures that operators are properly trained for the weld operation using the training matrix.
  • Assures that all BOS and other quality requirements are met and recorded properly.
  • Communicates with opposing shifts (will require time outside of normal shift)
  • Coordinates changeovers with all materials, tooling, and manpower required is available to ensure a quality and efficient changeover and supports as needed.
  • Coordinates team activities with activities of other departments.
  • Enforces all PPE and other safety requirements, such as Good to go sheets, and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Escalates Safety, Quality, and Productivity issues to the applicable department and Weld/Assy Supervisor.
  • Evaluates training needs and complete training and employee evaluations with the production supervisor as required. Provides input to training status on training matrix.
  • Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in the TS16949 and ISO 14001 Operating Manuals as they relate to the job function.
  • Inform proper departments of any problems, such as tool repair for tooling and maintenance for equipment.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Perform special projects and assignments at the request of the Weld/Assy Supervisor
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to production supervisor.
  • Requisitions required materials through Production Supervisor
  • Sustains clean and safe working areas through the implementation of 5S activities.
  • Ensures continuous efficiency of production by covering in absence of team members, labeling of finished goods, stocking of production materials and other duties as assigned by Weld/Assy supervisor

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Excellent analytic and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have a good knowledge of the English language
