Job Profile
The company is recruiting an Associate Design Engineer to join its engineering design team.
Education Level
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (College/University)
- An equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
- An advanced engineering degree (a plus)
Work Experience
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems is strongly preferred (aerospace, automotive, aircraft, or machinery).
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of professional mechanical/aerospace design engineering tasks of a conceptual design, detailed design, analysis, or development nature of Solid Motor Propulsion, Controllable Solids Propulsion, or Air-Breathing Propulsion field.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with CAD software tools is desired (PTC CREO preferred), as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Work Environment
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- May require the ability to travel by air or auto.
- May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and a shop coat.
- May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
