Job Profile

The company is searching for an Automation Technician who will perform service work on plasma, oxy/fuel cutting systems, robots, and other related equipment. This will include installation, preventative maintenance, onsite troubleshooting and service, component repair, and performing component upgrades while ensuring a safe working environment.

Educational Level

  • Associate Degree Welding (AAS), Technical School; work experience, electrical, and electronic knowledge could supersede educational requirements.

Work Experience

  • Experience operating large equipment such as CNC tables, high-voltage electrical equipment, and power sources. Comfortable working in a variety of manufacturing environments.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to work closely with customers as the Company’s primary contact person to build confidence and deliver for the customer and Airgas.
  • All employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but is not specifically described.
  • Communicate professionally with all branch personnel and the advanced fabrication team.
  • Ensure proper service documentation is completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Identify sales and service opportunities for existing and prospective customers. This will be accomplished both individually and by working with other Airgas associates.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment by ensuring all health and safety guidelines are followed both at Airgas and customer facilities.
  • Maintains accurate and timely expense reports.
  • Perform maintenance and repair as needed on automation equipment at customer facilities; ensuring machines are tested, calibrated, and run according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Perform maintenance and repair as needed on equipment sent into the Airgas welder repair facility in Anaheim, CA; ensuring machines are tested, calibrated, and run according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Must maintain a clean MVR.
