Job Profile
The company is hiring an Aviation CNC Machinist who will perform setup, calibration, maintenance, and operation of machining equipment, to make complex, precise cuts, bends, alignments, and forms of requisite materials.
Cross-trains in other complementary skills as needed to support production requirements.
Education Level
- Technical Degree in a relevant field
Work Experience
- At least 5 years of experience
License/Certification
- Attainment of trade certification
- Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program, or equivalent
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operators.
- Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures, and lays out work pieces.
- Cross-trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements.
- Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
- Participates in the continuous improvement of cell processes.
- Participates in the cross-training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
- Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates, and layouts to determine the machining operation to be performed.
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
- Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers. Troubleshoots, debugs, and modifies to achieve expected performance.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy, and precision.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, tool design, and fabrication methods
- Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related internal control systems.
- Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, rework process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals, and MSDS labels.
Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average workday.
- Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods.
