Job Profile

The company is looking for a Boilermaker – Critical Repairs who will carry out and oversee critical structural repairs across its most valuable mobile assets.

In addition to completing complex repair work, the position requires a specialized skillset.

The role will also see you directing and engaging with contractors, applying best practice HSEQ procedures, and generating improvements to optimize repair efficiency.

Educational Qualification

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication or
  • An equivalent qualifications/trade experience suitable to the Boilermaker/Welder profession

Work Experience

  • The ability to pass AS1554 part 1,4,5 using MMAW and FCAW

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Candidates will be required to maintain exemplary safety standards, with a particular focus on thorough risk assessment, housekeeping, the correct use of all relevant PPE, and safety tooling.
  • Complete all GBO MEM critical structural repairs (Load, Dig, and Production critical) during shuts and scheduled outages.
  • Complete and/or oversee critical ad-hoc breakdown repairs as required.
  • Complete in-house bucket and major component structural overhauls in lieu of off-site repairs.
  • Complete regular bucket inspections, generate reports, and maintain a comprehensive database tracking the condition of all buckets across three MEM workshops.
  • Complete reports on all repairs carried out following an established process
  • Ensure quality conformance of additional BMW labor required on major structural repairs.
  • Liaise closely with the in-house Condition Monitoring team to complete regular QA/QC conformance audits.
  • Maintain AS1554 parts 1, 4, and 5 throughout your period of employment in MMAW and FCAW.
  • Optimize structural repair downtime while maintaining repair quality.
  • Work alongside and oversee contractors during shutdowns and major service days to ensure the correct repairs are being carried out, reassessing repair priorities throughout the shutdown.

  • Confined Space Entry HRWL
  • Working at Heights HRWL
  • Elevated Work Platform HRWL
  • C Class Australian Manual Driver’s License or higher

Credible Abilities-

  • Current First Aid qualification
  • Demonstrated experience working with HME (Heavy Mobile Equipment)
  • RTIO Dogging or equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of SAP
