Job Profile
The company is seeking a Brake Press Operator II who will perform both routine and complex set-up operations of one of the following related to brake press operations, and any related equipment.
Work with team leader/supervisor employees to acquire skills required for promotion to Brake Press Operator III level.
Must demonstrate the ability to complete and understand direction from team leads/supervisors.
Education Level
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Work Experience
- 6 months to 1+ years of Brake Press experience
- Experience with power and hand tools (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in training new employees.
- Be able to set up and run brake press efficiently.
- Clean the production area (sweep, mop, and remove debris).
- Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste.
- Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
- Ensure conformance to specifications.
- Familiarize yourself with the tools, instrumentation, and calibration equipment.
- Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
- Increase knowledge and inspection practice to ensure conformance to quality department specifications.
- Inform management or lead of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem.
- Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
- Maintain a safe work environment (i.e., use of personal protective equipment, proper lifting techniques, etc.).
- Mark parts for identification.
- Performs daily preventive maintenance on the machine
- Place equipment on conveyor belts/tables/baskets/totes for further processing.
- Properly scrap non-conforming material (set up parts)
- Read and interpret gauges.
- Recommend and select proper tooling for required tasks and recommend productive process changes.
- Record data.
- Start up and stop equipment.
- Take instructions from management and lead person.
- Use Epicor ERP to log into and out of jobs.
- Work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to manufacture products at required quality levels.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Basic math and communication skills (required)
- Able to perform duties with minimal oversite
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 35 lbs.
- Frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand or walk up to 8-10 hours per day.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- The job consists of working in a manufacturing facility.
- Job could consist of making changes by hand or by running machinery equipment.
