Job Profile
The company is seeking a Bystronic Fiber Laser Operator to join its team.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 1 year+ of experience in CNC Laser cutting
- Experience running Fiber Laser (preferably a Bystronic Laser 6KW or larger)
- Experience with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to read blueprints and program machining equipment to produce required parts.
- Ability to use metal working manipulation machinery (laser, turret, brake, shear, saw, punch, etc.).
- Assembly of piece parts into the final product.
- Assist tradespeople, the Team Lead, the Supervisor, and the Senior Production Manager with responsibilities pertinent to the project’s progress in a safe manner.
- Fabrication of piece parts as per schematic under the supervision of a Team Lead, Supervisor, Manager, and Senior Production Manager.
- Familiarize yourself with new projects and duties, or request training concerning new equipment.
- Familiarize yourself with or request training concerning machining equipment.
- Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure good working order and notify the Team Lead, Supervisor, and Senior Production Manager of malfunctions.
- May require to move materials with a forklift or overhead crane if trained and authorized.
- Notify the Team Lead, Supervisor, or Senior Production Manager of any unsafe conditions, practices, or procedures observed.
- Organize department and keep department clean, also clean department at the end of each workday.
- Performs all duties following Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
- Removes cut parts and scrap parts
- Other duties as required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to use overhead forklift to properly load/unload table
- Must have advanced math skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Work involves a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is critical
