Job Profile

The company is searching for a CAD Designer who will assist the engineer in the creation of conceptual designs, development of new products, and revision of existing product documentation.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Drafting and Design from a college/university

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum of 3 plus years of experience (preferred)
• Additional experience in mechanical applications, welding, or metal fabrication (a plus)
• Must have experience in Solid Works or related CAD software

Duties/Responsibilities

• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerance, when appropriate.
• Assist in the selection of suppliers, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Assist with packaging design, testing, and documentation.
• Communicate design information as needed between the test lab, manufacturing engineering, and engineering documentation.
• Create and maintain component drawings, bills of materials, and final assembly documentation.
• Create/design tooling and fixtures to support production
• Perform calculations as required to validate designs.
• Prepare engineering samples.
• Recommend improvements to the CAD system.
• Recommend product improvements and cost reductions.
• Transfer CAD files to vendors via the internet.
• Will model new products from concept to production including weldments, sheet metal, die castings, injection molded parts, and final product assemblies using Solid works CAD software.
• Will research and create detailed ECOs. (Engineering Change Orders)
• Work within pre-established deadlines, design requirements, performance specifications, and target costs.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Must know Windows and Microsoft Office software products.
• While no control over others exists when in discussion with others, this position must display tact, diplomacy, and respect. He or she must listen to, acknowledge and respond to issues in a timely fashion.
• Must have product development procedures, and knowledge of basic manufacturing processes.
• Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.
