Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Certified Welding Inspector who will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of welded structures by conducting inspections, verifying compliance with industry standards and project specifications, and collaborating with engineering teams to uphold welding best practices.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- Proven experience as a welder in a similar role
License/Certification
- Certified Welding Inspector Certification
- Completion of a welding certification program or relevant vocational training
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria), may or may not be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines to protect oneself and others in the work environment. This includes the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe workspace.
- Communicates with dispatching or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required. Cellular phones are to be worn at all times, and calls are to be returned on time
- Completes daily time and labor reports accurately in accordance with company policy.
- Conducts welding inspections at job sites. Report data in an accurate, complete, timely, and understandable fashion in accordance with applicable inspection procedures
- Ensures that project requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.

- Operates a motor vehicle. Maintain company vehicle (schedule oil changes, check fluid levels, inside/outside upkeep)
- Possession of relevant welding certifications is often preferred. Common certifications include those from the American Welding Society (AWS) or other recognized certifying bodies.
- Regular attendance is required
- Technicians must arrive on time for scheduled jobs.
- Studies and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements
- Works closely with other team members, such as fabricators, engineers, and supervisors, to ensure that the project is completed efficiently and meets quality standards.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
- Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients
- Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reports
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them
- Knowledge of various welding techniques and equipment
- Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Physical stamina and dexterity for prolonged periods of standing, bending, and lifting
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Work Environment
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections.
- Ability to lift or carry 35 to 75 lbs. up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion.
- Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy environments and with project teams.
- Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to focus), smell, hear, touch (use hands to reach, climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel, and sit).
- Exposure to environmental elements, including dirt, dust, sun, heat, humidity, and adverse weather conditions.
- Frequent use of hands and arms for typing, handling tools, and operating equipment.
- Moderate to loud noise levels, common in active construction and industrial environments.
- Sites that may not be accessible by vehicle, requiring travel on foot through wetlands, swamps, grasslands, fields, and other uneven or rugged terrain with natural and man-made obstacles such as sand, brush, and debris.
