Job Profile

The company is hiring a Certified Welding Inspector with NDT experience to assist with projects focused on Radial Gates, Bulkheads, Coffer Dames, Aluminum Fish Ladders, large diameter Piping systems, and observation during machining and dimensional verification.

Education Level

• Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

• 3 years of minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication
• American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)-will be verified thoroughly
• NDT Level II (UT/MT/PT)
• CWI D1.1/ASME Inspection experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to develop and maintain client relations.
• Ability to use the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner, and printer.
• Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction, and quality personnel courteously and professionally.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, the internet, report writing, and file (photograph and other) attachments.
• Fabrication of Radial Gates, Bulkheads, Coffer Dames, Aluminum Fish Ladders, large diameter Piping system, and observation during machining and dimensional verification.
• Familiarity and experience with AASHTO/AWS D1.5/AASHTO/AWS D1.1.
• Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength (Grade 325) bolts testing (rotational capacity/preinstallation verification) and reporting.
• Familiarity with steel bridge erection.
• Perform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per applicable coded requirements.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and project special provisions to verify compliance with material quality.
• Tunnel work at Oroville Dam.
• Utilize applicable ASTM and AASHTO construction specifications.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good Driving Record (driver’s license will be verified)
• Pass pre-hire drug screening/testing
