Job Profile

The company is searching for a Grinder/Metal Finisher (Class A) who will be responsible for performing class C/B grinding and finishing work on sheet metal products for secondary operations with low cosmetic visibility.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate standard hand grinders.
• Deburr, buff, and or polish materials to specifications.
• Examines and feels the surface of the product for defects.
• Removal of defects, scratches, excess weld material, and burs to produce a smooth unmarred surface.
• Prepare products for secondary operations such as powder coating by achieving a Class C/B finish with low cosmetic visibility.
• Ensure that safety device guards are operative and follow safety protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

• May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Moderately loud noise levels in a plant environment.
• Must be able to stand, walk and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• Required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
• Vision abilities require close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth
