Job Profile

The company is looking for a CNC Brake Operator to join its team.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• Previous experience on the break or technical schooling

Duties/Responsibilities

• May grind laps or burs from the edges of the workpiece using a portable grinder.
• May perform minor preventive maintenance per A.M. or P.M. procedures
• Operate and maintain safety light curtains.
• Position the workpiece manually or with crane hoists to align parts to the dies and back gauge.
• Selects, positions, and aligns dies in machine ram and bed.
• Sets up and operates surrounding CNC Brake to bend, notch, punch, form rolls, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or sketch specifications.
• Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate.
• Turns set screws or bolts to fasten the clamp bar that holds dies in position or activate hydraulic clamping.
• Verifies dimensions of work piece, using templates or standard measuring equipment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Basic Computer skills.
• Knowledge of CNC equipment and operation.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Must be knowledgeable in using measuring and inspection tools.
• Must understand computer controls and logic to adjust cutting speeds/pressure gauges.
