Job Profile
The company is hiring a CNC Machine Operator who will set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) or manual Bridgeport machines to machine parts with no assistance.
Machining of tooling, production parts, and fixtures within the confines of scheduled delivery dates and customer satisfaction.
Must be able to communicate with co-workers regarding production runs and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
Educational Level
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Some Technical School Education
Work Experience
- 2 or more years of related experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Accomplish basic setups without supervision
- Adhere to the safety manual and work instructions related to safety
- Deburr machined parts accurately while maintaining processing and production goals
- Ensure that all responsibilities and functions performed/followed by company procedures and meet the quality standards in place
- Fill out daily production and conformance paperwork
- Handles changeovers without assistance
- Organize, maintain, and clean work area per housekeeping expectations
- Perform basic quality inspections using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure that part is in conformance with print specifications
- Performs offsets without assistance
- Read and write basic code on the machines without assistance
- Start and observe the machine to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
- Willingness to communicate with other team members, share knowledge, and train fellow teammates when needed
- Works independently to operate one or more CNC or Bridgeport machines
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend a variety of instructions, including blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions
- Must be able to: Model behaviors of reliability as outlined in the Company Attendance Policy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of machining concepts but not limited to G/M codes, setups, speeds and feeds, tooling, etc.
- Knowledge of operating and comprehending inspection tools to ensure quality and conformance
- Self-motivated and able to work well with others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
