Work Experience

Previous machine operation experience (required)

License/Certification

CNC machine certification (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

Adjusts the machine according to specifications
Attaches fixtures to the machine according to setup instructions
Cleans machine parts and performs machine maintenance
Interprets complicated drawings, program sheets, instructions, and process sheets to determine work to be done
Manipulates controls to start the machine
Measures workpiece for conformance to specifications
Notifies the Supervisor of discrepancies
Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions
Performs a variety of inspection and gaging operations to ensure maintenance of quality standards and specifications
Performs a variety of related operations to close and interrelated tolerances
Performs diversified operations on numerically controlled machines
Plans and performs a variety of machine operations utilizing numerically controlled machines, i.e., Mills, Lathes, Routers, or saws, to machine plastic or metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties
Reviews the setup sheet and specifications to determine the sequence and dimensions of the finished workpiece

Standing for extended periods

Work Environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Certain areas of the work environment may have elevated noise levels and require hearing protection.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, and talk or hear.
Regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
