Job Profile
The company is recruiting a CNC Machine Operator who will be responsible for the setup, operation, and preventive maintenance of equipment to produce tooling according to quality specifications in an efficient and safe manner.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
Work Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in CNC manufacturing – highly preferred (e.g., equipment setup/operation/changeover, use of measurement tools, and knowledge of preventive maintenance)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Drives safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations, including identifying safety hazards.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains sharp tools and adequate stock for removal in fixtures, changes as needed.
- Manages shipments of finished tooling to secondary processes and manufacturing sites.
- Participates in continuous improvement by thinking of ways to perform work more safely, faster, or with better quality.
- Performs 6S activities and improvements as required
- Plans machining operations by studying production schedule and setup sheets.
- Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
- Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Mill and Electro Discharge Machines (EDM).
- Runs the Mill and EDMs by loading appropriate materials and running the correct programs.
- Works with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints/specification sheets and follow instructions
- Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer a resolution
- Ability to understand basic machinery
- Comfortable using a computer to interface with machines and office programs, including email.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Complete on-the-job training (machine setup, running programs, use of inspection tools)
- Willing to work the assigned shift with minimal overtime as needed
