The company is looking for a CNC Machine Operator (Industrial) to join its team.

Education Level

  • Possesses a High School Diploma, GED, or High School equivalency
  • At least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

Work Experience

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience as an industrial CNC machine operator and possess the following: a CNC operator certificate, or 2-year degree in – manufacturing technology, PLC Programming, Industrial Systems Technology, or Machine Tool Technology (required

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Can program, set up, run, and monitor Heat Treat Ovens to all Nadcap processes.
  • Completely and independently sets up and operates Computerized Numerical Controlled (CNC) and Conventional equipment to perform complex or precision operations following repair requirements.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting and accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to set up a machine and run the job with minimal supervision.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Ensures operation of machinery. This includes completing preventive maintenance on the machine, and programs PRIMS.
  • Is safety conscious and looks for opportunities to improve safety.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing requirements to complete the job.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Must be proactive towards learning/SOJT training process.
  • Must be proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Must work in compliance with maintenance manuals.
  • Possesses basic math and computing knowledge, including word processing, and email
  • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides maintenance information to others by answering questions.
  • Saves programs to a computer when necessary.
  • Sets or loads program (when available) to program zero-point reference.
  • Sets tool compensation offsets, edits program (drilling depth and movement), sets safety and tool monitors and adjusts tools to parts specifications.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; and reading technical publications.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to select fixtures, part holding, and tooling to machine to specifications.
  • Can confirm conformance of finished work to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gages.
  • Can identify workmanship defects and deficiencies and can initiate program changes as required.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking, and styles.
  • Internal candidates must be performing satisfactorily in the present position.
  • Must be able to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with no assistance.
  • Must be proficient in reading and comprehending mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and provide outstanding customer service. Must work safely.
  • Must have good mechanical ability with above-average problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a variety of environments.
  • Must have the ability to work without close supervisory direction and to complete the job without assignment of tasks.
  • Must meet the physical requirements which include the ability to lift at least 70 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNC Technology Diploma
  • Thermal Spray experience (High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF), Plasma, and Cold Spray)
  • ABB robotic programming experience
  • Thermal Spray machining experience
  • Masking, gas turbine engine-related experience
