Job Profile

The company is hiring a CNC Machinist who will program, set up, and operate 3-axis vertical machining centers.

Educational Level

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• 2 years prior machining experience or vocational school (preferred)
• Journeyman machinist (preferred but not necessary)
• Programming experience with CAM software (preferred). High mix, low volume 2D and 3D milling of simple to complex machined details.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Calculate feeds and speeds, and adjust for cutting conditions to optimize processing.
• Communicates potential quality issues with management
• Import CAD data and use FeatureCAM software to program CNC machining centers.
• Perform PM on machines and maintain the housekeeping of the work area.
• Program, set up, and operation of machine tools such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses. Typically, will be assigned a CNC vertical mill to be run daily. Mazak, Hurco.
• Read blueprints and machines’ metallic and nonmetallic parts to print tolerances.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to obtain a Hi-Lo (ForkLift), Aerial Platform, and Overhead Crane license, along with Lock Out Tag Out training.
• Ability to provide own hand tools and toolbox suitable for the job (a list of those recommended will be provided). Most tools and set-up equipment are provided by the shop.
• Maintain a steady pace while bending, kneeling lifting, and loading machines
