Job Profile

The company is searching for a CNC Machinist who will set up and operate a variety of CNC Turning, Vertical, and Horizontal machining centers. Duration of set-ups varies, once set up, running times vary depending on the job order.

Work in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate, and you will be responsible for the quality of your work.

• Set-up and operation of numerically controlled machines

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed changing environment.
• Deburring and cleaning of parts using various hand and power tools such as a belt sander or drill press.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Enrollment and successful completion of courses offered at S&C through the S&C Continuous Improvement Institute are expected.
• Handling of piece parts ranging in weight from 1 lb to 25 lbs.
• Inspection of parts visually and using various measurement tools such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
• Knowledge of shop math.
• Proficient use of measuring equipment such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
• Understanding of metal-cutting applications and machine practices.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Most tasks require good hand/eye coordination and the full range of motion of both hands and arms on a regular and repetitive basis.

Physical Demands

• Bending: Occasional bending and crouching are required to perform job tasks.
• Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 50 lbs.
• Handling: Continuous handling of piece parts ranging in size from 1lb. to 25 lbs. along with a variety of hand
• Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Pulling: Occasional pulling of part containers with the manual hand truck.
• Pushing: Occasional pushing of part containers with the manual hand truck.
• Reaching: Frequent reaching is required to move parts from the machine to tubs
• Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position.
• Walking: Occasional walking short distances (less than one-eighth mile.)
