Job Profile

The company is looking for a CNC Machinist who will be responsible for safely machining parts within the required tolerances as defined on the blueprint.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Technical or professional certification (preferred) or completion of an appropriate apprenticeship program

Work Experience

  • Experience using Fanuc controls and Mori Seiki CNC’s

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accurately works from shop orders to ensure the manufacture of quality part
  • Assists in keeping equipment and working area clean and orderly.
  • Communicate with internal customers, fellow associates, supervisors, and management as required.
  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct Requirements.
  • Conducts pre-operational inspections of equipment or tooling as required
  • Identification and inspection of parts upon completion.
  • Maintain accurate and timely daily work logs, equipment maintenance records, and other documents as required.
  • Perform all duties safely and collaboratively and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to a supervisor.
  • Promote and comply with good safety practices and habits, including but not limited to, the use of all PPE, ensuring guards and safety features are working.
  • Stacks and organizes parts onto pallets using a forklift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to change tooling and inserts.
  • Ability to conduct safe operation of a crane.
  • Ability to follow standard machine operating procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. per EHS
  • Ability to measure parts using standard measuring devices, including a tape measure
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid forklift certification as required
  • Ability to read and understand CNC programs.
  • Ability to read, understand directions on work instructions, and complete paperwork as needed.
  • Ability to record and enter operations data as required
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and take the initiative to correct or seek immediate assistance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot programs and setups with limited training.
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, with exposure to dust and fumes
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, on short notice as needed
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math skills and weight calculations, including the use of shrinkage charts
  • Basic skills in reading and understanding manufacturing documents, such as POs and work instructions in English
  • Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results
  • Identification and inspection of parts upon completion; Accuracy and attention to detail key.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Proven engagement in safety requirements
  • Sense of urgency and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of simultaneous projects

  • Understanding of and ability to follow preventative maintenance process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of metal work process a plus
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus

Physical Demand

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
