Job Profile
The company is searching for a CNC Machinist to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
- Previous machine operation experience (required)
Licensing/Certificate
- CNC machine certification is a plus. Must be forklift certified.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adjusts machine according to specifications
- Attaches fixtures to machine according to setup instructions
- Cleans machine parts and performs machine maintenance
- Interprets complicated drawings, program sheets, instructions, and process sheets to determine work to be done
- Manipulates controls to start the machine
- Measures workpiece for conformance to specifications
- Notifies Supervisor of discrepancies
- Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions
- Performs a variety of inspection and gaging operations to ensure maintenance of quality standards and specifications
- Performs a variety of related operations to close and interrelated tolerances
- Performs diversified operations on numerically controlled machines
- Plans and performs a variety of machine operations utilizing numerically controlled machines, i.e. Mills, Lathes, Routers, or saws to machine plastic or metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties
- Review the setup sheet and specifications to determine the sequence and dimensions of the finished workpiece
- Sets up, programs, and operates CNC machines
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to cold, wet, hot, or humid conditions moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is loud.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
- Required to become forklift certified, which includes driving and upper body twisting.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
