Job Profile
The company is seeking a CNC Machinist who will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and maintaining tooling to produce quality products.
Also responsible for continuous improvement of tooling, housekeeping, making informed decisions, and having tooling ready for production runs.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
- Post-secondary education (preferred), or a minimum of 5 years of experience
Work Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Die building experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in determining spare parts requirements
- Ensure quality products and know quality procedures
- Follows and supports Magna’s operating principles
- Know and understand Bowling Green Metal forming Quality and Environmental policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Perform duties according to blueprints, CAD data, sketches, and verbal instructions
- Program CNC Machines using offline G-Code software
- Recommend modifications to existing tooling
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
- Tig and Mig weld and hand-working parts of die (heat treat of materials)
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Basic knowledge of automation
- Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- General knowledge of troubleshooting, materials and methods, machines and tools, and practical application of Engineering Science
- Operate standard office equipment (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous set-up and programming experience (a plus)
- Experience in Tig and Mig welding (preferred)
- CAD/Blueprint reading and shop match (preferred)
