Job Profile

The company is hiring a CNC Machinist who will perform all required layouts, complex setups, and manual and CNC machining. This includes subassembly, tool setting, deburring of parts, dimensional inspections, and final assembly of components according to required specifications on time.

Plan and oversee the work with minimal supervision while directing other employees

Train other employees on all functions and processes within the department.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of experience
  • G-Code Experience
  • Manual machining experience (desired)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership to accomplish new and different requests and explore opportunities.
  • Professionally conducts him or herself at all times.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
  • Experienced and adept at manual and CNC machining ferrous and non-ferrous materials using vertical and horizontal lathes, milling machines, turrets, and grinders.
  • Maintains a personal inventory of basic tooling needed to complete routine CNC and manual machining setups.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Operates CNC mills and lathes, by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; and proving part programs.
  • Promotes safety and quality at all times.
  • Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Sets up CNC mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, stock pushers, indicating vices, and trimming heads.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
