Job Profile
The company is searching for a CNC Machinist who will perform highly routine/repetitive work on standardized parts.
Operates one or more CNC or manual machines
Skilled to adjust and operate several machine tools on standardized work where setup details and operating procedures are prescribed.
Fixtures, machine stops, and indexing devices are utilized to control tolerances.
Work can be subject to a process and final inspection check.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- 1-5 years of experience as a manual or CNC machinist (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Acquires raw material, supplies, tools, etc., when necessary.
- Completes and maintains all necessary records of time, part counts, first piece inspections, and requisition forms, etc., for each job.
- Ensures proper machine setup and accurate interpretation of prints and specifications to prevent damage to material. Detects errors with frequent tolerance/quality checks.
- Makes jigs, fixtures, or other specialized non-production devices as qualified and assigned.
- Obtains required inspections on the first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedure and performs inspections on work-in-progress using a wide variety of measuring devices.
- Performs first piece inspections on basic products for other machinists, as qualified and assigned.
- Performs machine setups to obtain close tolerances, fitting, and alignment of machined parts.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance of machines according to the PM schedule.
- Troubleshot drawings, machining, tooling, programming, material, etc., and makes competent decisions about the job at hand.
- Utilizes Geometric Dimension and Tolerance as called out on print.
- Works from drawings, sketches, and specifications to complete various machining operations.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Some trade school or on-the-job training is required to become proficient in most phases of the job.
- Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary to learn the job.
