The company is searching for a CNC Machinist who will operate CNC lathes in support of machining and other manufacturing process operations.

Education Level

• High School Diploma (credible)

Work Experience

• 2+ years of experience operating a multi-axis CNC lathe machine
• Experience in machining with tolerances of +/- .001
• Experience in precision metal machining
• Prior experience with multi-axis CNC equipment (highly desirable)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Indexes turret and adjusts positions of tools at each station in relation to the workpiece to assure clearance between moving parts and machining of specified dimensions and tolerances
• Machine operation involves loading and tending runs of parts, or performing one-step operations on individual parts
• Must be able to perform simple inspection using calipers, micrometers, and other miscellaneous gauges
• Performs housekeeping duties, including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM
• Positions and secures tools in holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, and fixtures
• Pressure-test parts according to the drawing or work procedure.
• Reads blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and standard charts for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
• Understand and perform to all quality regulations, standards, and policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003. Follow work procedures and ensure the highest level of quality
• Verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Blueprint and technical drawing reading
• CNC programming (G-code/M-code)
• Machine operation and maintenance
• Precision measurement and tool setup
• Quality control and inspection

Work Environment

• Bench-type or floor-mounted machines (e.g., drill presses, grinders, broaches, screw machines, manual and CNC mills and lathes, saws, shrink-wrap machines, etc.), hand and power tools, measuring instruments, hoists, lifts, and lift trucks.
• Perform in a manufacturing environment.
• May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, hot temperatures, chemicals, and vapors.
• May occasionally be required to work in an office environment
• Continuously standing, repetitively grasping, and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands.
• May be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull.
• Must be able to lift 10-20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
