Job Profile

The company is hiring a CNC Machinist who will set up/operate CNC lathe machines for the machining or processing of metal parts, including changing out tooling as required, in various departments of our Power Transmission division.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have completed a High School or Better

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Check and inspect operation against predetermined tolerances.
  • Install machine fixtures to assure the safe operation of the machine.
  • Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner.
  • Maneuver large, awkward, or heavy parts manually or with a crane.
  • Set up, operate, and tend machines such as Mori-Seiki, Okuma, and You-Ji to process components.
  • Work from process sheets, blueprints, or other written/verbal instructions given by the supervisor to perform production tasks.
  • Work in other areas or departments as assigned.

Licenses/Certifications

  • CNC Machinist Certification

  • Ability to work with others and be a team player

  • Good math skills
  • Good work ethics and reliable
  • Knowledge of basic machining practices and materials is a plus, as is general mechanical knowledge
  • Physically able to handle heavy items including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components
  • Positive attitude
  • Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English
  • Strong mechanical ability
  • Willing to be trained with a desire to learn a trade
  • Work scheduled hours and comply with the company’s timekeeping policy and all other company policies
