Job Profile
The company is looking for a Machinist who will operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, such as grinding and milling machines, to cut and produce precision manufactured parts.
Repair or produce parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements based on blueprints or technical drawings.
Responsible for overall work assignments under the supervision of the Cell Supervisor/Work Leader.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Trade School Education/Certificate (preferred)
- Machining Certificates as equipment requires.
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in manual machining
Duties/Responsibilities
Primary Duties-
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Continually look for ways to increase efficiency and productivity, while maintaining the required level of quality.

- With a positive attitude, demonstrate the ability to effectively participate in a team environment that promotes the company’s goals and objectives.
- Work safely following all health, safety, and environmental rules and policies.
Essential Duties-
- Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail in close-tolerance manufacturing.
- Possess intermediate math skills for measurement, testing, and problem resolution.
- Replace cutting tools as required to meet product conformity.
- Safely operate overhead cranes.
- Display proficiency in the use of inspection tools such as micrometers (ID/OD/depth) calipers, pi tapes, etc., and hand tools including layout tools, grinders, drills, wrenches, mallets, etc.
- Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, and manuals. Knowledge about geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.
- Work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Complete required inspection documentation reports.
- Receive priorities, instructions, and assignments from the supervisor.
- Observes safety regulations and exhibit a high concern for safety.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to read and interpret or to quickly learn to read and interpret line graphs and to comprehend the relationship between temperature and vacuum using the Fahrenheit scale and microns.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to effectively solve common equipment or process-related problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and effectively communicate in English.
- Ability to solve problems using appropriate critical thinking skills.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, or crouch and occasionally required to sit.
- Must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to vibration. The employee is at times exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional exposure to loud noise.
- The employee is at times exposed to hot temperatures.
