Job Profile
The company is seeking a CNC Machinist (BE-7) III to join its team.
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 7 years of related CNC experience
- 2 years of experience with multi-axis machines
- 2 years of experience with CNC programming (desired)
- 15+ Years of Manual/Tool and Die
- Experience with one or more of the following CNC machines: Mazak, Hass, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, Hermle, or Okuma
Duties/Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain world-class, state-of-the-art CNC machines to fabricate components for various spaceflight systems.
- Be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines and equipment to produce accurate components enabling first-article success on tight tolerance, high-value parts.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback
- Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
- Familiar with the use of personal computers
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, and stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Working knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, OSP, or other CNC controls
Desired Qualifications
- CMM programming/operation experience
- CNC programming skills, preferably NX 10 thru 2306
- Conversational programming on the machine
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts
- Outside processing knowledge including heat treating, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.
- Tooling and fixture design.
- Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) experience
