Job Profile

The company is looking for a CNC Machinist III who will prepare, program, and operate CNC machinery.

Develops, edits, or modifies operation sequences based on manufacturing sketches, blueprints, or schematics.

Sets up machinery for production runs, operates machinery to meet quality and productivity standards, and troubleshoots and resolves errors or discrepancies.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in machining aerospace components
  • Experience machining the following materials: nickel-based stainless-steel alloys (Inconel, Monel, etc.), Copper, Aluminum, or Titanium
  • Experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machining (Horizontal, mill/turns)
  • Extensive experience with one or more of the following CNC machines: Mazak, Hass, Kuraki, or DMG Mori


  • Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications
  • Hands-on editing of NC programs, set up and machining of 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, multi-axis lathes, and development of critical machining processes
  • Partner with leadership and engineering to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals. This role will impact space flight programs and objectives!
  • Working with engineering to document and standardize production processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • CMM programming/operation experience
  • CNC programming skills, preferably Mastercam X6 thru 2018
  • Conversational programming on the machine
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts
  • Outside processing knowledge including heat treating, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.
  • Tooling and fixture design.
  • Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) experience
  • Working knowledge of Heidenhain


  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
  • Familiar with the use of personal computers
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Must be able to work nights and overtime when necessary.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, and stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol, or other CNC controls
