Job Profile

The company is looking for a CNC/Manual Machinist who will set up and machine various parts, with supervision as required, performing operations such as milling, boring, facing, slotting, drilling, reaming, tapping, turning, and other standard machining operations.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or equivalent, machining trade school (a plus)

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with close tolerances on manual lathes, grinders, and mills, and performing basic routine maintenance on machines and tools.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform duties without assistance except on unusual or difficult jobs only. Consistently produce work of proper quality and the proper required quantity.
• Perform these duties within EthosEnergy as well as customers’ facilities.
• Rough and finish machines perform a wide variety of complicated work.
• Select all types of cutting tools suitable for working on all kinds of material and all types of cuts; properly grind cutting tools.
• Set the part to be machined in the proper position using suitable lifting equipment; select and use suitable holding devices or methods.
• Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties, and mathematics.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as verniers, micrometers, precision gage blocks, dial indicators, calipers, and any other instruments required to maintain dimensions and close tolerances.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to perform routine machine preventative maintenance
• Able to check own work with inspection tools, gauges, micrometers, and indicators
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Able to hold tolerances at or below .002
• Able to read engineering and manufacturing drawings
• Capable of machining down to precise tolerances below .0005 inches
• Capable of utilizing precise measuring equipment
• Control tooling inventory levels
• Custom tool grinding
• General understanding of steam turbines, stationary and rotating components, or similar rotating equipment
• Good understanding of speeds and feeds
• Must be able to operate various powered hand tools
• Must be able to read and interpret machining drawings

Work Environment

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to stand for long periods.
