Job Profile
The company is seeking a CNC Operator who will plan and perform all operations necessary to set up/operate 4 and 5-axis Milling and Turning machines for all purposes for which the machines may be adapted.
Judge the suitability of cutting tools, work-holders, attachments, and accessories, taking necessary initial and corrective action to maintain the required degree of dimensional accuracy and surface finish of components machined.
Educational Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills or lathes
- Experience working with tight tolerances
- Work experience in aerospace (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to follow instructions
- Align work-holders, work, tool-holders, tools, and attachments
- As required, perform tool proving, and training functions related to all machine operations
- Check the dimensions of the work
- Follow standard methods established by shop procedures and policies
- Mount, align, and secure work-holders, work, tool-holders, attachments
- NC/CNC tape and programs, precision measuring attachments, indicators
- Perform set-ups and run production using established processes and programs
- Work on blueprints, sketches, design drawings, and required tolerances
- Work on the general plan of operation: blueprints, sketches, process sheets, operation sheets, tool layout chart
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Tool changes, offsets, and general knowledge of G codes are considered (an asset)
