Job Profile
The company is searching for a CNC Operator who will be responsible for production, quality, and safety standards as they relate to leather and fabric cutting.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED; or Equivalent Combination of Education and experience.
Work Experience
- Must complete 2 years on the job training
Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists team members in solving work problems.
- Communicate quality concerns/issues with the supervisor, engineering, and materials
- Confers with other team members to meet production schedules.
- Coordinate with members of the team to operate the cell most efficiently.
- Ensure all safety standards are being followed and unsafe acts or conditions are reported.
- Ensure preventive maintenance is performed as required.
- Identifying defects and grading them into appropriate ranking categories.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate team members to achieve work goals.
- Inspect production materials.
- Interprets specifications, patterns, and job orders.
- Maintain the work area’s cleanliness and organization.
- Maintain yield and quantity documentation by job.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Maximizing yield by placing identified defects in allowable areas.
- Meet production schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and safety methods.
- Responsible for the completion and accuracy of cycle counts.
- Responsible for ensuring specified quality verifications and procedures are followed and quality parts are produced.
- Responsible for filling out required paperwork.
- Responsible for pursuing further training opportunities for one’s self-advancement.
- Responsible for the training and development of new and current employees working on the product line.
- Responsible for understanding non-conforming product procedures.
- Selecting appropriate cut files based on job packets or manufacturing stickers.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
- Other duties may be assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must possess strong math skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and product information books.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently is required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
