Job Profile

The company is hiring a CNC Operator who will operate a CNC machine based on scheduling and production goals, as they relate to our monthly/quarterly and annual metrics.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma (required); further technical education (highly desirable)

Work Experience

  • 6 months of CNC experience is required as a minimum or formal training from a reputable institution.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Actively promotes teamwork atmosphere and supports team development.
  • Clean parts with an air hose as needed.
  • Ensures quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation/process.
  • Loads workpieces into the machine as instructions are provided and unloads finished parts.
  • Measures workpieces for conformance to specifications and documents them as required. Check thread depth and No and Go gauges.
  • Participates in problem-solving activities and contributes to quality improvements amongst leadership and department teammates.
  • Performs secondary operations as defined by the traveler, using various machines/tools such as files, drill presses, and sanders.
  • Performs selected repetitive maintenance tasks, and housekeeping tasks as necessary.
  • Reports any unsafe conditions and machine malfunction to set up person/Supervisor/Manager.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of his/her work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
  • Review blueprint specifications to understand the operating sequence of the respective machines.
  • Understand and complete all paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints is a must.
  • Ability to read measuring tools required.
  • Solid math skills.

Physical Demands

  • Continuous mental and visual attention is required.
  • Requires constant alertness or activity.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stand and occasionally required to walk, sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
