Job Profile
The company is looking for a CNC Operator who will use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions.
Work with great concentration and precision.
Produce high-quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline (a plus)
Work Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC operator
- Mechanical experience (preferred)
- Experience in tractor-trailer building or knowledge (preferred)
- Experience in a manufacturing-related field (preferred)
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling, as well as precision measurement tools
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist other employees, as needed and instructed.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
- Keep clean, organized the area in which you work during and at the end of the shift.
- Communicate issues of concern and any other pertinent information that affects the productive completion of quality product, schedule of product, and safety to the Supervisor(s)
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Organize and restock needed parts and materials.
- Perform all related duties as assigned by the Supervisor(s)
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Ability to comprehend and interpret detailed drawings and measurements
- Ability to work alone or with a team
- Ability to work any shift based on production needs
- Ability to work assigned shift or extended shift hours
- Basic knowledge of CNC G-Code/M-Mode Programs
- Basic knowledge of tool changes and tool setup
- Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM Software
- Good communication abilities
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- Oral comprehension and expression skills to listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally, and then effectively communicate the information and ideas verbally
Work Environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to physically inspect own work and perform work in various positions
- Ability to push, pull, and lift various materials, including aluminum, steel, and parts
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
