Job Profile
The company is searching for a CNC Operator who will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to perform various machining functions such as drilling, cutting, or grinding. The duties will include interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tools and materials, adjusting machine settings, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the final products.
Be responsible for performing routine maintenance on CNC machines and troubleshooting any issues that arise during production.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
License/Certification
- Technical certification or training (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety and quality control standards at all times.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy and quality of the finished parts.
- Attend scheduled meetings and actively participate by providing meaningful input
- Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills
- Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions
- Flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to the customer or company as circumstances warrant
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure smooth production.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning and lubricating.
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining operations.
- Select the appropriate tools, materials, and fixtures needed for each job.
- Set up and operate CNC machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic repairs as needed.
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees professionally and respectfully.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and gauges.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and in writing in the English language.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and machine controls.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required
- Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
