Job Profile

The company is seeking a CNC Plasma Punch Person to join its team.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• Previous experience on punch presses experience or training

Duties/Responsibilities

• Actively perform work to ensure WCM criteria are met.
• Changes punches during the part operation and for set-ups using the machine control.
• It may be required to perform de-burring/de-slagging operations after the punching operation.
• Minor preventive maintenance may be performed per AM and/or PM procedures.
• Observe the machine operation, and verify conformance of the workpiece to specifications using various measuring devices.
• Operate and maintain safety light curtains
• Operate and set up various CNC punch presses to punch various sizes and shaped holes in steel part configurations to specifications.
• Responsible for keeping the punch and dies in excellent operating condition by having the tool room/ME Dept. reorder, repair, or sharpen as required.
• Secures and locates sheet material parts in the correct position on the machine table per the set-up instructions.
• Uses the controls to select various part configurations and to edit and perform minor offset changes.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow through on verbal or written instructions.
• Must be able to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Must be knowledgeable in using measuring and inspection tools.
• Must understand computer controls and logic to adjust cutting speeds/pressure gauges.
